Two PhD. Grants
The Fundación Juanelo Turriano is calling for applications for two PhD. grants worth 14 400 euros yearly each for dissertations dealing with the history of science or engineering. Particular consideration will be given to studies relating to architecture or to hydraulic, civil or mechanical engineering.
The deadline for submitting applications is 13 June 2014.

ARS MECHANICAE. OPENING AT VALLADOLID
The travelling exhibition entitled Ars Mechanicae. Ingeniería medieval (Ars Mechanicae. Medieval engineering), co-produced by the Spanish Centre for Public Works Studies and Experimentation-Centre for Historic Studies on Public Works and Urban Planning (CEDEX-CEHOPU) and Fundación Juanelo Turriano, opened on 11 April at the Science Museum in the Spanish city of Valladolid. 
Mayor Francisco Javier León de la Riva, Councilwoman for Culture, Trade and Tourism Mercedes Cantalapiedra, CEDEX Director Mariano Navas, Fundación Juanelo Turriano President Victoriano Muñoz Cava, Science Museum Director Inés Rodríguez Hidalgo and Fundación Juanelo Turriano Director Bernardo Revuelta Pol were present during the opening ceremony.
The exhibition will be on display through 13 October 2014.

PARTNERING AGREEMENT WITH FUNDACIÓN MUSEO DEL EJÉRCITO (ARMY MUSEUM FOUNDATION)
The Fundación Museo del Ejército, represented by Director Francisco Ramos Oliver, and Fundación Juanelo Turriano, by President Victoriano Muñoz Cava, concluded a partnering agreement on 31 March in Toledo, Spain.
This agreement will govern the collaboration between the two institutions in connection with history of technology-related activities.

NEW ISSUE OF MOLINUM
The Asociación para la Conservación y Estudio de los Molinos (association for the conservation and study of mills, ACEM) has released issue 46 of its journal Molinum. Click here to download.
It has also digitised one of the journal’s first era issues, number 5, released on 5 March 1999, that can be visualised here.
MIGUEL FISAC: THE QUEST FOR UTOPIA. CONFERENCE
Fermín Blanco, architect and professor with IE University, will deliver a conference entitled Miguel Fisac: the quest for utopia at 7:00 PM on 25 April at Segovia’s Royal Mint Museum in the framework of the exhibition Miguel Fisac: huesos varios [Miguel Fisac: trademark hollow prestressed concrete beams]. 
 
TWELFTH SEHCYT CONGRESS. MONOGRAPHIC SESSIONS
The Sociedad Española de Historia de las Ciencias y de las Técnicas [royal society of the history of science and technology, SEHCYT] Twelfth Congress will be held on 10-12 September around the theme Science and Technology between Peace and War.
