Agustín de Betancourt 1758-1824. Exhibition closing

The exhibition Agustín de Betancourt 1758-1824. Founder of the School of Civil Engineering. Cosmopolitan engineer closed on 16 June. The exhibition was designed by the Fundación Juanelo Turriano and organized by the National Library of Spain, the Regional Government of the Canary Islands, the Puerto de la Cruz City Council, the Technical University of Madrid, the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineers and the Centre for Public Works Studies and Experimentation.

The show, which was held in the National Library and opened on 7 March, received more than 28,000 visitors.

Agustín de Betancourt was one of the Enlightenment’s leading engineers and technical minds. By lending items from their collections, many institutions have made it possible to tell about his legacy, and the Fundación Juanelo Turriano thanks them all for their support.
