Agustín de Betancourt 1758-1824. Exhibition opening

The opening of the exhibition Agustín de Betancourt 1758-1824. Founder of the School of Civil Engineering. Cosmopolitan engineer was held on 6 March in the auditorium of Spain’s National Library.

The institutions that organized the exhibition were represented at the event. Speaking on behalf of the Foundation Juanelo Turriano were Foundation President José María Goicolea Ruigómez and exhibition curator Daniel Crespo Delgado, who joined the authorities present in a tour of the show.

Agustín de Betancourt 1758-1824- Founder of the School of Civil Engineering. Cosmopolitan engineer opened to the public on 7 March in Spain’s National Library, in the Sala Recoletos. The exhibition commemorates the 200th anniversary of the death of one of the leading engineers and technicians of the Enlightenment.

The show is open to the public at large until 19 May 2024.
Admission is free.

Asociación Caminos organized a ceremony to honour the memory of Clemente Sáenz Riduejo, civil engineer and former president of the association, on 29 February last.

Fernando Sáenz Ridruejo and Rosario Martínez Vázquez de Parga, Fundación Juanelo Turriano trustees and members of the Foundation’s Advisory Commission, participated in the event along with others.

The exhibition Development of astronomy in the 18th and 19th centuries has been open since 20 February in the anteroom of the academic offices of the School of Civil Engineering of Madrid.

The show is open to the public at large. Admission is free.
