Foreigners in the Modern Age city: draw, describe, understand

The National Distance University’s (UNED) Associated Institution at Segovia, in conjunction with sponsor Fundación Juanelo Turriano, delivered a university outreach course entitled Foreigners in the Modern Age city: draw, describe, understand on 28 to 30 October last.

The course concluded with a guided tour around the city for its >20 enrollees, helmed by historian Enrique Gallego Lázaro.

A tribute to honour the memory of Cristóbal Mateos Iguacel will be held on 16 November next at Madrid’s Chartered Institute of Civil Engineers.

The event and subsequent colloquium will be streamed.


Tribute to Francisco Martín Gil
Tribute to Francisco Martín Gil

On 2 October last, a plaque on the railway viaduct over the River Esla that bears the name of Francisco Martín Gil was unveiled in tribute to the eponymous civil engineer.

In 2018, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the conclusion of the bridge, the Asociación Ferroviaria Zamora and the Provincial Council of Zamora organised an exhibition on the subject.
