The National Distance University’s (UNED) Associated Institution at Segovia, in conjunction with course sponsor Fundación Juanelo Turriano, will deliver a course entitled Foreigners in the Modern Age city: draw, describe, understand on 28 to 30 October next.

The course is geared to historians, engineers, art and science historians, architects, geographers and anyone interested in the subject.

Co-headed by Alicia Cámara Muñoz, full professor of art history at UNED, and Bernardo Revuelta Pol, Fundación Juanelo Turriano Director, it carries 1 European Credit Transfer System credit.

The lecture entitled ‘Protagonistes de la gran aventura hidroelèctrica als Pirineus: Victoriano Muñoz Oms. Un visionario humanista’ [Lead actors in the Pyrenees hydroelectric adventure:Victoriano Muñoz Oms, humanist visionary] was held on 3 June 2022 at the El Pont de Suert Cofradía de San Sebastià.

Civil engineer Victoriano Muñoz Oms, known among others for the many works he authored on the River Noguera Ribagorzana in the wake of the creation of Catalonia’s General Public Works Plan in 1935, was Fundación Juanelo Turriano Honorary President Victoriano Muñoz Cava’s father.

At 12:00 on 17 June, International Women in Engineering Day, a round table on pioneering women engineers will be held at European University of Madrid’s Villaviciosa de Odón campus.

The Agustín de Betancourt y Molina and Juan López Peñalver awards ceremony will be held on 21 June at the Royal Academy of Engineering. On the occasion, HERSILL Equipos Médicos will be proclaimed Academiae Dilecta.
