Juanelo Turriano, clockmaker and mathematician to Emperor Charles V

On Friday 4 June at 10.00 AM., Channel 2 of Spain’s public broadcasting network RTVE will run a National Distance University (UNED) programme on Juanelo Turriano.

Bernardo Revuelta Pol, Fundación Juanelo Turriano Director, and Daniel Crespo Delgado, Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) professor and foundation researcher, will participate in conjunction with the programme narrator, art history professor Alicia Cámara Muñoz.

The programme will be re-broadcast on the same day over RTVE’s international channel and over Channel 2 on Sunday 6 June at 07.30 AM.

Fundación Juanelo Turriano reminds candidates that the deadline for submitting applications for its PhD. thesis grant is 16 September 2021.

Candidacies for the eleventh edition of the García-Diego International Prize are also being and will to be accepted through the 20 January 2022 deadline.

Daniel Crespo, professor at the Complutense University of Madrid and Fundación Juanelo Turriano researcher, was among the speakers and Pedro Navascués Palacio, Fundación Juanelo Turriano President, took part in the round table.

A programme entitled Civil Engineering: essential societal service was broadcast on 23 May by the Castile-La Mancha regional television channel. The programme highlighted the (perhaps insufficiently acknowledged) importance of the work conducted by graduates of the University of Castile-La Mancha’s School of Civil Engineering at Ciudad Real.
