Jesús López Requena’s El proyecto de navegación del Tajo de Carlos de Simón Pontero [Carlos de Simón Pontero’s project for a navigable River Tagus], the latest addition to the Juanelo Turriano Collection on the History of Engineering, is now available from the foundation’s Digital Library.
The book describes the project design, development and contents as submitted by Carlos de Simón Pontero to King Fernando VI, along with a profile of the author and his career, the failure of his endeavour and its impact on subsequent initiatives to render the River Tagus navigable.
