Agustín de Betancourt, Spanish engineer in the czarist court

A Spanish language seminar entitled Agustín de Betancourt, Spanish engineer in the czarist court will be held in Madrid at the Royal Academy of Engineering on 27 May at 18:30.

Fernando Sáenz Ridruejo, Fundación Juanelo Turriano trustee, will be one of the speakers.


International Congress on Cean Bermúdez and the historiography of the plastic arts

An  international congress on Cean Bermúdez and the historiography of the plastic arts (Cean Bermúdez y la historiografía de las bellas artes), organised by Spain’s national library (BNE), the University of Murcia and the Centro de Estudios Europa Hispánica, will be held at the BNE on 27 and 28 May.

 

Daniel Crespo Delgado, PhD. in art history and Fundación Juanelo Turriano researcher, will participate in the first session with a paper entitled Justa melancolía. La historiografía artística española durante la Ilustración española (Rational melancholy: Spanish art history during the Enlightenment).

The Royal Academy of Engineering and its co-sponsor, Fundación Pro Rebus Academiae, are pleased to announce the tenth edition of the Agustín de Betancourt and Juan López de Peñalver prizes for researchers or professionals who have made original and significant contributions to any of the branches of engineering.

The deadline for receiving candidacies is 31 May 2019.
