The latest addition to the Juanelo Turriano Collection on the History of Engineering, accessible cost-free on the foundation’s website, was presented on 5 April at Madrid’s San Fernando Fine Arts Academy.

Daniel Crespo Delgado authored Preservar los puentes. Historia de la conservación patrimonial de la ingeniería civil en España (siglo XVI-1936) [Conserving bridges: history of the conservation of Spain’s civil engineering heritage, sixteenth century to 1936].

Victoriano Muñoz Cava and Pedro Navascués Palacio, Fundación Juanelo Turriano President and Vice-President, introduced the author and his two-volume book to the large audience attending the event.

A congress entitled To be the making of: engineering, loyalties and power networks in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries will be held on 16 and 17 April in the auditorium of the Spanish National Distance University’s School of Political Science and Sociology.

Alicia Cámara Muñoz, member of the foundation’s Advisory Commission, and Margarita A. Vázquez Manassero are the congress organisers.

On the occasion of the 'Dresdner Brückenbausymposium’ held on 12 and 13 March, David Fernández-Ordóñez, Secretary General of the Fédération internationale du Béton (FIB) delivered a lecture entitled Eugène Freyssinet: "I was born a builder".
