The Fundación Juanelo Turriano is calling for applications for two PhD. grants worth 14.400 euros yearly each for dissertations dealing with the history of science or engineering. Particular consideration will be given to studies relating to architecture or to hydraulic, civil or mechanical engineering.

The deadline for submitting applications is 18 September 2017.

The exhibition Federico Cantero Villamil 1874-1946, avant-garde civil engineer: graphic testimonial, organised in conjunction with Fundación Juanelo Turriano, will open on 22 May at 12:30 PM at Madrid’s Chartered Institute of Civil Engineers.

The inaugural ceremony will be followed by a round table on Cantero Villamil’s life and works, in which Fernando Sáenz Ridruejo, Fundación Juanelo Turriano trustee, will participate.

The exhibition will run through 28 May. 

 

The book entitled La goleta de hélice Isabel Francisca: anexión y guerra de Santo Domingo [Isabela Francisca, steam schooner: annexation and war in Santo Domingo] by Luis Delgado Bañón, will be presented on 1 June at 7:00 PM at the Navy General Staff Headquarters in Madrid.

The event is cost-free and open to the public at large up to hall capacity.
