Eduardo Torroja Museum Catalogue. Presentation

The Eduardo Torroja Museum Catalogue was presented at the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineers on 30 November.

The round table held on the occasion was presided by José Antonio Torroja, Fundación Eduardo Torroja President, and moderated by Pepa Cassinello, catalogue editor and museum curator. Authors of catalogue articles Miguel Aguiló, Javier León, Javier Manterola and Julio Martínez Calzón participated.

Fundación Juanelo Turriano collaborates with the museum with the loan of its scale model of the Algeciras Market Hall, one of Engineer Torroja’s most emblematic works.

Revista de Obras Públicas: monographic issue on José Echegaray

The Revista de Obras Públicas monographic issue on José Echegaray was presented at the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineers on 22 November.

José Manuel Sánchez Ron, Miguel Aguiló, Luis del Rivero and Fernando Sáenz Ridruejo participated.

Maurice Daumas Prize

ICOHTEC, the International Committee for the History of Technology, announces its Maurice Daumas Prize for the best article on the history of technology published in 2015 or 2016. Submissions must be received by 15 January 2017.

The prize, worth 500 euros plus an additional 500 for travel expenses, will be awarded during the 44th ICOHTEC Symposium to be held at Río de Janeiro on 23 to 29 July 2017.
