Libros, caminos y días. El viaje del ingeniero [Books, roads and days; the engineer's journey]
A new volume, the sixth, of the series Juanelo Turriano Lectures on the History of Engineering has now been released. Libros, caminos y días. El viaje del ingeniero [Books, roads and days; the engineer's journey] compiles the lectures delivered on the occasion of the eponymous course held in 2015 at the Spanish National Distance University’s associated facility at Segovia, organised jointly by the university and Fundación Juanelo Turriano.

Mobility, travelling, have characterised the practice of engineering from the outset. Focusing on the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, the book describes this feature of the profession as experienced by a number of exceptional engineers, from Tiburzio Spannocchi to Agustín de Betancourt, whose career brought to a close an age initiated by the Emperor’s engineers.
