The awards ceremony for the for
García-Diego International Prize for the History of Engineering was held on 11 June at the
Instituto de la Ingeniería de España (Spanish Institute of Engineering).
Fundación Juanelo Turriano awards this prize, worth 12 000 euros, every two years. Cristiano Zanetti won this seventh edition for his paper entitled
Educación y redes de Juanelo Turriano: historia social de un ingeniero renacentista (Juanelo Turriano, Renaissance engineer: schooling and social circles).
The ceremony began with the screening of the institutional video on Juanelo Turriano’s artifice. Victoriano Muñoz Cava, Foundation President, José María Goicolea Ruigómez, Chairman of the Jury and Bernardo Revuelta Pol,
Fundación Juanelo Turriano Director all addressed the audience prior to the awardee’s acceptance speech, in which he expressed his gratitude for the prize and briefly described his research.
