Fundación Juanelo Turriano has awarded the 7th edition of its García-Diego International Prize to Cristiano Zanetti for his paper entitled Educación y redes de Juanelo Turriano: historia social de un ingeniero renacentista [Juanelo Turriano, Renaissance engineer: schooling and social circles].

The second book in the series Lecciones Juanelo Turriano de Historia de la Ingeniería [Juanelo Turriano lectures on the history of engineering] is now available cost-free in the foundation’s Digital Library. The book reproduces the conferences delivered in Segovia on the occasion of the 2013 course on Renaissance engineers, jointly organised by the National Distance University’s (UNED) Associate Centre in Segovia and Fundación Juanelo Turriano.

Fundación Juanelo Turriano collaborated with the International Academy of the History of Science in the publication of the book Correspondance de Johannes Hevelius, prolégomènes critiques, which contains Hevelius’s previously unpublished correspondence with major seventeenth century scholars and his perspective on the era’s cosmological debates.

Fundación Miguel Aguiló, in conjunction with Fundación Ingeniería y Sociedad and the Chartered Association of Civil Engineers, is organising a University of Cantabria summer course entitled “Paisajes culturales de la ingeniería” (cultural engineering landscapes), to be held at Laredo, Cantabria, Spain, on 21, 22 and 23 July.
