| The Provincial Government of Alicante has published a book by Ágata Marquiegui Soleaga entitled El patrimonio hidráulico de la provincia de Alicante: catálogo ilustrado de mil quinientas obras y actuaciones [The hydraulic heritage of the province of Alicante: illustrated catalogue of one thousand five hundred works and undertakings, an account of the area’s water-related heritage and its conservation]. This study forms part of the author’s PhD. dissertation entitled Acciones hidráulicas en tierras alicantinas [Hydraulic works in Alicante] defended in 2007 at the University of Alicante and rewarded with summa cum laude honours. | The opening ceremony for the Eduardo Torroja Institute for Construction Science’s 80th anniversary will be held at the Spanish National Research Council’s auditorium at 12:00 noon on 20 February. The anniversary will be commemorated throughout the year with the organisation of a number of activities: bibliographic exhibition, exhibition entitled Quienes somos, de dónde venimos (who we are, where we were), an international congress on rehabilitation, conservation and innovation, an open house day, experimental workshops in educational institutions, competitions for students and the Eduardo Torroja Institute for Construction Science Award. |
