| FUNDACIÓN JUANELO TURRIANO AWARDED NAVY HONOURABLE MENTION |
| 
| The annual awards ceremony during which the Navy acknowledges excellence in works, deeds and actions inspired by the sea and its surrounds was held at the Naval Museum on 22 November last. Fundación Juanelo Turriano received the Honourable Mention for Promoting the Navy’s Image in acknowledgement of its significant contribution to the conveyance of Spanish naval and maritime culture with the recovery and permanent installation of the Isaac Peral submarine at the Cartagena Naval Museum. Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Muñoz-Delgado awarded the distinction to Victoriano Muñoz Cava, President of Fundación Juanelo Turriano. 2013 awards. |

| The Sociedad Estatal Correos y Telégrafos (state post and telegraph society) has released Camino sobre el río, historia de los puentes españoles (Walking over the river, history of Spanish bridges), a book in which Leonardo Fernández Troyano compiles the characteristics, history and social and economic impact of bridges in Spain. The book highlights the technical and architectural value of the country’s bridges, from Roman and Medieval to the most avant-garde cable-stayed structures, and discusses their role in inter-connecting regions, communities and people. | The 9th International Congress on Molinology, organised by the Asociación para la Conservación de la Huerta Murciana (HUERMUR) and Asociación para la Conservación y Estudio de los Molinos (ACEM) will be held at Murcia on 9, 10 and 11 May 2014. The abstracts for communications or posters proposed must be submitted on the respective form by 10 January 2014. Authors of the abstracts accepted by the scientific committee are to submit their full communications or posters prior to 16 March 2014.
