| RENAISSANCE ENGINEERS. UNIVERSITY OUTREACH COURSE |

| Renaissance Engineers, a course organised by the Spanish Distance University and Fundación Juanelo Turriano, was delivered at Segovia on 15, 16 and 17 November under the supervision of Alicia Cámara Muñoz and Bernardo Revuelta Pol. Thirty-one registered and several audit pupils attended. In addition to the lectures, the course included visits to El Parral Monastery and the Royal Mint Museum, likewise in Segovia. Fundación Juanelo Turriano will publish digital versions of the lessons. |
| EDUARDO TORROJA 1949: STRATEGY TO INDUSTRIALISE HOUSING IN POST-WORLD WAR II. NEW PUBLICATION |

| Fundación Eduardo Torroja and Fundación Juanelo Turriano have co-published the book entitled Eduardo Torroja 1949: strategy to industrialise housing in post-World War II. In 1949 Eduardo Torroja, director of the Institute for Construction and Cement Engineering (today the Eduardo Torroja Institute for Construction Science) organised an unprecedented international competition. Architects and engineers from 17 countries submitted a total of 89 projects. The articles included in the book address the impact of this initiative on progress in housing construction, both in Spain and abroad.
