| NEW PERAL ROOM AT CARTAGENA NAVAL MUSEUM |

| The new Peral Room at the Cartagena Naval Museum, specifically designed to exhibit the homonymous submarine, will open to the public on 12 September next. Fundación Juanelo Turriano played an instrumental role in the recovery of this historic vessel. |
| BOOK PRESENTATION: SUBMARINO PERAL |

| Cartagena will be hosting a conference series, among a number of other events, on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the launch of the submarine designed and built by Isaac Peral. In the fist of these conferences, to be delivered on 12 September at 8:00 PM, Juan Ignacio Chacón Bulnes will present his book entitled Submarino Peral. Día a día de su construcción, funcionamiento y pruebas (Peral submarine. Day-to-day account of its construction, operation and testing), published by Fundación Juanelo Turriano and awarded the 6th García-Diego Prize. Download programme

| A new publication is now available on line: El léxico de los ingenios y máquinas del Renacimiento (a wordbook of Renaissance devices and machines) is Cristina Martín Herrero’s PhD. dissertation, the research for which was funded under one of Fundación Juanelo Turriano’s grants for doctoral theses on the history of science and engineering (Academic year 2010-2011).
