| LAYOUT OF THE ROMAN AQUEDUCT AT CADIZ. PhD DISSERTATION |
| 
| Civil engineer Jenny Pérez Marrero defended her PhD dissertation entitled El trazado del acueducto romano de Cádiz (layout of the Roman aqueduct at Cadiz) at the Seville School of Construction Engineering. This dissertation, for which Dr Pérez received summa cum laude honours, was written under one of the grants awarded by the Fundación Juanelo Turriano for PhD theses on the history of science and technology.

| ARTIFEX EXHIBITION |
| 
| Over 5 000 visitors viewed the travelling exhibition “Artifex, Roman engineering in Spain” on display at the Royal Mint Museum at Segovia until 5 January last. Organised by Spain’s Centre for Public Works Studies and Experimentation (CEDEX) around a design authored by the Fundación Juanelo Turriano, it is presently en route to the Canary Islands, where it will open in early March at the Elder Science and Technology Museum in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. |
