News View All Félix Candela: Mastering Slenderness Felix Candela Exhibitions The year 2010 marked the centenary of the birth in Madrid of prominent architect Félix Candela, internationally known and admired for his thin concrete shells. Fundación Juanelo Turriano and the Technical University of Madrid commemorated the date with an exhibition that opened on 23 February at the Conde Duque Community Centre, Madrid. With photos, drawings, scale models and audio-visual presentations, the exhibition afforded a varied overview of Candela’s creative personality and his oeuvre.
